Who are the new migrants? Why has there been such an increase in recent years? What are the challenges and who benefits? Made in conjunction with the Geographical Association, this programme explores the issue of migration through the experiences and lives of migrants and their families. The examples encourage students to think about migrants’ differing countries of origin, motivations, intended durations of stay, ages, and socio-economic situations both in the UK and their country of origin. It includes interviews with the polish community in rural Llanelli, asylum seekers and refugees in Sheffield and an illegal immigrant from Africa.
